This shoot was about reimagining boxing beyond competition-- treating it as performance, discipline, and poetry in motion. Working with Jordan King, the top collegiate boxer in the nation, I wanted to capture the aesthetic dimension of the sport: its beauty, rhythm, and quiet intensity.
Process & Execution:
I leaned into contrast-- shadow against light. sweat against skin- to heighten boxing's physicality while framing it as art. The direction and composition emphasize elegance in the moment rather than sheer aggression-- this approach strips boxing to its visual and emotional core. This project blurs the line between athletics and art-- regardless of boxing being an aggressive sport, it is also an expressive medium of discipline, rebellion, and artistry.
